Capitals (Maiuscole)

Many words that are capitalized in English are not capitalized in Italian. These include:

• the days of the week: Arriva domenica. He (she) is arriving on Sunday.
• the months of the year: agosto August, marzo March...
• proper adjectives: lingua inglese English language, un libro francese a French book...
• a few proper nouns: Gli americani sono industriosi. Americans are industrious.
• titles such as Mr., Mrs., and Miss: Il signor Neri è italiano. Mr. Neri is Italian.
