Subject Pronouns
The subject pronouns (je, tu, il / elle; nous vous, ils / elles)
are used obligatorily with the verbs. In most cases the different verbal
forms for persons and number are alike in French pronunciation and it is
with the help of the pronouns that they may be indicated in the speach,
cf.:
-
Je parle français. [

pa
l...]
I speak French.
-
Tu parles français. [typa
l...]
You speak French.
-
Ils parlent français. [ilpa
l...]
They speak French.
The differenciation between:
-
Il parle... He speaks... and
Ils parlent... They speak... (both
pronounced [ilpa
l...])
is derived from the contect of the situation.
